Associate Professor Suzanne Pitama (Associate Dean Māori/Director of MIHI) PhD (Otago) PGDipEdPsych, MA (First Class Hons), Suzanne (Ngãti Kahungunu). Suzanne is a registered educational psychologist. She has been involved in Māori health research and health education for more than 18 years. Suzanne is focussed on addressing Māori health inequities through medical education, health research and through membership on appropriate committees and boards (including the HRC NZ Board). Suzanne’s PhD focused on the design, implementation and impact of indigenous health curricula within medical schools. The MIHI team teach the Hauora Māori curriculum at the Otago Medical School (Christchurch), the Clinical Psychology programme (Dunedin), and deliver post-graduate short courses (including for RANZCOG).
