Dr Raewyn Lesa

Lecturer, Centre for Postgraduate Nursing Studies, University of Otago, Christchurch, NZ
An experienced registered nurse and lecturer, Raewyn Lesa has worked in a range of clinical and teaching contexts. With educational pedagogies as a core skill, she has developed and implemented strategies to support learning in both the clinical and simulation environment. Raewyn’s specific interest is preparing nurses for the high-stakes clinical setting which is increasingly complex.

In June 2019, Raewyn completed her PhD which explored third-year nursing students’ experiences in simulation and clinical practice. The focus was the influence of the learning context on students’ development of clinical judgment skills. Raewyn currently works as a lecturer at the Centre for Postgraduate Nursing Studies, University of Otago, Christchurch. She facilitates simulation experiences for pre-registration nurses and coordinates courses for postgraduate nurses in advanced health assessment, clinical reasoning and nursing education.
